“A bold new-music interpreter and the violist of choice among downtown ensembles.” The New York Times on Nadia Siorta

Described by Pitchfork as “a one-woman contemporary-classical commissioning machine," violist Nadia Sirota is best known for her singular sound, expressive execution, and inspiring collaborations. After her week-long residency featuring performances and conversations, Sirota’s Fuse Project culminates with a world premiere of Tessellatum, an ambitious piece for viola, viol consort, and electronics by Irish composer Donnacha Dennehy (co-commissioned by Symphony Space), as well as pieces by members of the Bedroom Community, including American contemporary classical music composer Nico Muhly and Icelandic musician Valgeir Sigurðsson.

A spark is generated. A fuse is lit. A melding occurs. The creative process around new work is imbued with an infectious and inspiring spirit, and the Fuse Project harnesses this spirit as Symphony Space presents works that are pushing the boundaries of innovation across genres.
