“Compassion, romance, a sense of mortality and a sense of history run through the songs of Declan O’Rourke…his calling is as a balladeer, proffering reassurance in the face of inevitable sorrow.”
– Jon Pareles, The New York Times

Praise for Gold Bars In The Sun
“A work that takes this artist’s creativity to places that many songwriters couldn't locate without the help of Google Maps.”
 The Irish Times

The acclaimed balladeer from Dublin, Declan O'Rourke, returns to Irish Arts Center to kick off our fall season with two evenings of musical treasures from his extensive catalogue, including hits like “Galileo,” “Time Machine,” and “Gold Bars In The Sun” — the title track of his latest studio record.

If that's not enough he will also treat us to some sneak previews from his soon-to-be-released next record Declan O'Rourke In Full Colour, which is comprised of 16 songs accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra.

Don't miss the chance to see this extraordinary singer-songwriter and IAC favorite at these rare, intimate solo shows in the Donaghy Theatre.
