Mundy

June 7 - 8 | 8 PM

As seen in SongLives (fall 2012), curated by Susan McKeown

“'The Galway Girl' is the one thing I’m sure to be remembered for. I owe a lot of that to Mundy … the biggest hit was his version.” —Steve Earle

“Amazing gigs that has us eatin’ the songs straight from his palm, he’s a gift.” —Damien Dempsey

One of Ireland’s most exciting live performers returns to Irish Arts Center to share two evenings of his upbeat and celebratory folk/pop/rock style.

His poetic lyrics, honest folk sensibility, and skilled guitar work have earned him stage time with Alanis Morrissette, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, REM, Oasis, White Stripes, and more. The concert will see Mundy perform his platinum selling hits such as “To You I Bestow” from Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet, “Mexico,” “July,” his version of Steve Earle’s “Galway Girl,” “Mundy,” as well as some sneak previews of new work that further distinguishes this acclaimed singer/songwriter.
