An Evening with Niall Connolly
and Special Guest Anthony Mulcahy

Friday, September 6 | 8 pm
Doors open at 7 pm

“Niall Connolly is a folk icon…Among the most vibrant, poignant, and authentic indie folk artists in New York City.” – No Depression

Niall Connolly
First seen at the IAC as part of SongLives, curated by Susan McKeown, Cork man Niall Connolly is a compelling live performer with infectious melodies and engaging lyrics that regularly move listeners to tears and laughter. Whether it is his observations of the vibrant city of New York where he has spent the last six years, or the lives personalities, and circumstances of his fleeting encounters with strangers, Connolly writes intelligently and with extraordinary clarity and curiosity. His songs have been covered by more than 20 acts worldwide, and he has spent several years touring the U.S. and Europe.

The concert will see Niall perform songs from his newest album Sound with his 5-piece band, featuring Manchester-born songwriter Warren Malone on guitar and harmonies, Brandon Wilde on bass and harmonies, Len Monachello on drums and harmonies, Dennis Cronin on trumpet and vibraphonette, and Chris Foley on guitar.

Anthony Mulcahy
A founding member of the Gealach Gorm Singer/Songwriter Festival, County Waterford's Anthony Mulcahy relocated to New York in 2006. Having played at some of the most popular music venues in New York City, Mulcahy has created his own unique style and brings a new dimension to simple acoustic melodies. His lyrics show an appreciation for humanity in all its joy and pain, romance and tragedy and he will perform songs from his debut album Lazy Days (2010) and For My Sins (2012).
