Muldoon’s Picnic
An omnium-gatherum of words and music

Hosted by the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Paul Muldoon

The feast of word and song led by Pulitzer Prize-winning Irish poet, pop lyricist, and New Yorker Poetry Editor Paul Muldoon returns for a third season on the second Monday of every month. This fall welcomes the spoken word backing-band Rogue Oliphant.

Special Guests

Peter Carey is an Australian novelist, known primarily for being one of only three writers to have won the Booker Prize twice. Carey won his first Booker Prize in 1988 for Oscar and Lucinda, and won for the second time in 2001 with True History of the Kelly Gang,which The Guardian just named in its the definitive "100 best novels written in English."

Maureen N. McLane is the author of World Enough (2010), Same Life: poems (2008), This Blue (2014), and This Carrying Life (2006). In 2003 she won the National Book Critics Circle’s Nona Balakian Award for Excellence in Book Reviewing.

Bill Payne co-founded, with Lowell George, the American rock band Little Feat. He is considered by many other rock pianists, including Elton John, to be one of the finest American piano rock and blues music artists.
