DruidShakespeare Symposium at Fordham

Thursday, July 9 | 1 pm - 5 pm

Sponsored by the Fordham University Institute of Irish Studies

in association with the Irish Arts Center, National University of Ireland, Galway, its Druid Academy, and Druid Theatre

To coincide with DruidShakespeare at Lincoln Center, Irish and American experts will discuss the relationship between Shakespeare and Ireland -- exploring how Druid Theatre Company's approach to the history plays needs to be seen in the context of Irish history and culture. The afternoon includes onstage interviews with Tony-award winning director Garry Hynes, Druid company member Derbhle Crotty, and Irish playwright and DruidShakespeare adapter Mark O'Rowe. All parts of the program will include questions and answers and informal conversation with participants.
