One Night in Heaven
with Maeve Higgins

Featuring Quentin Fottrell, Courtney Fearrington, Heather McCabe, Salina Sias, Joe Zimmerman

Tuesday, November 17  | 7:30 pm

“A sly Irish lass…an international favorite…bright, awkward and full of jittery little whimsies.” – Time Out New York

"Higgins is rarer than a blessing of unicorns...she is original and relatively calm, her observations are pithy, her wit delicate, her persona oddly alluring and deftly honest." - The Irish Times

From Cork via Harlem comes Maeve Higgins, star of page and stage, with an all-new variety show featuring an eclectic and invigorating clutch of guests. Only the wisest voices, freshest thinkers, funniest moments, and best stories will make it past her gates into One Night in Heaven.

Bursting onto the New York comedy scene this year with shows across the city and appearances on Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer and National Geographic’s Startalk, Higgins is the most exciting comedy voice to emerge from Ireland in a generation. She has just been named a 2015 Woman of Influence by The Irish Voice newspaper for her comedy work as well as her writing—Higgins is author of the critically acclaimed essay collection We Have a Good Time, Don’t We?

One Night in Heaven features a different theme each month—October sees us savoring comedy and lore around food, November pinches our cheeks as we pinch our pennies and get down to real-talk about money, and December sees love rule the day…and night. Special guests will be announced.

Quentin Fottrell is a personal finance reporter and The Moneyologist columnist for MarketWatch. He is the author of Love in a Damp Climate.

Courtney Fearrington began to take his comedy from conversations and daily life to large groups of people in the United States Marine Corps onstage during military briefings, formations, and classes. Since fall 2005 Courtney has quickly become a fixture at comedy clubs and colleges across the nation because of his likable personality and quick wit. He has been featured beside some of comedies elite at clubs, bars, and even the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center. As a standup he has also been heard on syndicated radio, performed at the Bentzen Ball, and worked with comics from HBO, Showtime, MTV, Comedy Central, SNL, and many more.

Heather McCabe is an advocate for the continued circulation of the $2 bill. Her blog, TwoBuckaroo.com, chronicles the reactions she and other $2 bill enthusiasts encounter spending their unusual currency. She and Two Buckaroo have been featured in The New York Times, Mental Floss, Pacific Standard and the fall 2015 release The Two Dollar Bill Documentary. She works as a copy editor and writer in New York City and hosts the Humans Against Music karaoke night in Brooklyn.

Sias is a recording artist, published writer, and founder of Eclectic Muse Productions. She has recorded and released two albums and is currently working on a third influenced by her continued exploration of Mexican culture and traditions. Salina resides in Brooklyn with her husband and two children. More at www.salinasias.com

Joe Zimmerman is a comedian who has worked with the likes of every other great comedian ever. Joe has been on John Oliver’s New York Stand Up Show, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and was chosen as one of the acclaimed New Faces at Just For Laughs Montreal. Buzzfeed named him a top comic to watch and in 2014 he recorded a Half Hour Special which aired on Comedy Central, as well as being a featured performer on Season 8 of Last Comic Standing. 2014 also saw the release of his debut solo album, “Smiling at Wolves” which reached #2 on the iTunes comedy charts. Joe is an original member of the Beards of Comedy, who toured from 2008-2012 and recorded two albums. Joe grew up in Morgantown, WV and graduated from Davidson College in 2005.
