Introduction to Irish Genealogy with Bridget Bray 

Saturday, May 20th | 3 - 5 PM

Curious about your Irish ancestry but not sure how to begin? Then join this beginner level workshop and learn about the key steps to researching Irish genealogy.

This workshop will identify:

  • Common research challenges
  • Free and paid genealogy sites and resources
  • Impact of history on types of record availability
  • Beginner steps to building a family tree
  • Use of DNA in genealogy research

Attendees will participate in building the family tree of a well-known Irish figure applying their newly developed genealogy skills.

*All workshop participants will receive special discounts and offers for key Irish research and record sites.

Bridget Bray is the founder of the New York and Ireland held The Genealogy Event conference (www.thegenealogyevent.com), the New York based Irish/British Genealogy Group (www.meetup.com/The-Irish-British-Genealogy-Group/) and has led multiple Irish genealogy workshops for Irish organizations, conferences and senior centers.  She enjoys inspiring others to begin exploring the world of family history research.  A first generation Canadian living in New York, the Irish part of her ancestry hails from Castleconnell, Limerick.  She may be reached at bridget@bbnygroup.com
