(Gaelic Choir)

MONDAYS beginning April 24th | 7 – 9 PM

For more info contact jessie@irishartscenter.org or call 212-757-3318 ext. 214

Modeled after Sean O'Riada's Cór Cúil Aodha, An Cór Gaelach is a community-based choir that exclusively sings Irish language songs. The choir promotes community outreach, Irish language learning, community music making and Irish cultural education. Interested singers do not need previous experience in singing or the Irish language, although such experience is useful.

The choir is led by ethnomusicologist Colin Harte. Colin has taught music and ethnomusicology for ten years at the University of Florida and in the New York State public school system. He earned his doctorate in ethnomusicology from the University of Florida, Master’s in Ethnomusicology from the University of Limerick, and a Master’s in Education from CUNY-Lehman College as an NYC Teaching Fellow.
